Solar PV and Air Source Heat Pumps

Generate your own electricity, heat your home efficiently and cut your reliance on the grid. We survey your home, check what funding you can get and coordinate the whole process.

Solar PV

Generate Your Own Electricity

Solar photovoltaic (PV) panels on your roof turn daylight into electricity for your home. Anything you don't use can be stored in a battery or sold back to the grid.

Benefits

  • Lower electricity bills
  • Get paid for surplus electricity through the Smart Export Guarantee
  • Can improve your EPC rating
  • Low maintenance, with panels typically lasting 25 years or more

Air Source Heat Pumps

Efficient, Low-Carbon Heating

An air source heat pump takes heat from the outside air, even in winter, and uses it to heat your radiators and hot water. It replaces a gas, oil, LPG or electric heating system.

Benefits

  • Around three times more efficient than a gas boiler, producing about 3 units of heat for every unit of electricity
  • No gas supply, flue or annual gas safety check needed
  • Much lower carbon emissions
  • Up to £9,000 Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant, with the scheme extended to 2030

Boiler Upgrade Scheme

Air Source Heat Pump Grants, Extended to 2030

The government's Boiler Upgrade Scheme has been extended to 2030. It gives homeowners and landlords in England and Wales a grant towards replacing a gas, oil, LPG or electric heating system with an air source heat pump. We handle the whole process for you, from the grant application to the installation.

£9,000

Off-gas properties heated by oil or LPG

£7,500

Properties in gas areas

  • We handle your Boiler Upgrade Scheme application
  • Supply and installation by MCS-certified installers
  • The grant comes off your quote, so you only pay the balance

The £9,000 rate for oil and LPG homes is currently confirmed until 31 March 2027. Grant amounts as of October 2026; we confirm what your home qualifies for at survey.

Better Together

Solar PV, a Battery and a Heat Pump

Combined, these three measures can make a home close to self-sufficient for much of the year. The solar panels generate electricity during the day. The battery stores what you don't use straight away, so you can use it in the evening. The heat pump uses that electricity to heat your home and hot water very efficiently.

The result is a home that buys far less energy from the grid, with lower bills and protection from rising energy prices.

Solar output is lower in winter, so most homes still use some grid electricity in the colder months. A battery also lets you charge up on cheaper off-peak tariffs overnight.

Grants and Finance

Funding for Every Household

Grants are available for many homes, and finance options help able-to-pay customers spread the cost. We check what you qualify for as part of your survey.

For eligible households

Grants

  • Boiler Upgrade Scheme (extended to 2030): £9,000 for off-gas properties heated by oil or LPG, and £7,500 for properties in gas areas. We handle the application and installation.
  • Warm Homes: Local Grant: funded solar PV, heat pumps and insulation for eligible lower-income households
  • 0% VAT on residential solar panels, batteries and heat pumps

For able-to-pay customers

Finance

  • Spread the cost of your system over affordable monthly payments
  • Government-backed low and zero-interest loans for solar PV and batteries are part of the Warm Homes Plan
  • Combine finance with the Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant to reduce the upfront cost of a heat pump
